Excuses, Excuses, Excuses...Plus Some More Vacation Activities

I hope you'll bear with me over the next few days as I race to finish up the first edition of the FairfieldCountyChild.com monthly newsletter. You may not find the most fascinating posts here in the meantime. In case you were wondering, yes I am behind schedule with the newsletter. I can blame it on many things, including my poor Internet connection over the last few days, the repair man who won't call me back, my daughter's recent ear infection (and the lack of sleep resulting from it) or my own tendencies to take on too much work at once. Take your pick.

In the meantime, don't forget to sign up for said newsletter if you haven't already (it's quick and free, just click here). In this issue you'll find a special, subscriber-only deal from Darien Sport Shop, some tips on getting your children into a top preschool in Fairfield County and interviews with a few very cool moms in the area who can teach us all a lot. I know, I know.. you're at the edge of your seat. Just be patient, will you?

Plus you'll learn about my Lucky Leap Year Baby contest. If you or someone you know is expecting a baby on or around February 29th, you can be the lucky winner of a gift basket filled with goodies from several area businesses including Darien Sport Shop, Aetheria Relaxation Spa, Maggie & Lulu, Bellini Baby & Teen Furniture and Cricket Photography. Stay tuned for more details and if you're a business interested in donating a gift or service to the package, please contact me at fairfieldcountychild@gmail.com.

Thanks for your patience and understanding over the next few days!

PS. Here are two more vacation activities I've lifted directly from the Connecticut section in Sunday's New York Times:
  • Beardsley Zoo (Bridgeport) - "Cupid's Corner" live animals and stories today through Feb 23rd. More details at www.beardsleyzoo.org
  • Bush-Holley Historic Site (Cos Cob) - "Paint me a Picture" art workshops for kids 7-11. today through Thursday at 10am and 1pm. More details at www.hstg.org.
