Back to the Future for a Cure Hosts Movie Screening at Stamford's Avon Theatre This Tuesday, July 22nd

There are so many reasons to love this event. #1 Back to the Future is a classic that everyone can enjoy. I remember it was one of those rare movies that my entire family could watch together back when it was released in 1985 (wow, has it really been that long?) #2 The beautiful Avon Theater in Stamford is a experience in itself. I love catching a movie there. It first opened in 1939 and now it's a non-profit member of the League of Historic American Theatres. I'm all about supporting it. #3 It's for a great cause. All proceeds of the screening go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research.
Back to the Future for a Cure!, a local grassroots group, is hosting a screening of Back to the Future this Tuesday, July 22 at 7:30PM at the Avon Theatre to raise funds for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. In addition to the film screening, there will be a guest speaker, and a chance to win prizes, including two Yankee tickets, a sailing cruise on Long Island Sound, and a golf outing for four at Fairview Country Club in Greenwich. I spoke to the organizer, Karen Janos, and she tells me that it's definitely a kid-friendly event. Call Karen at 646.200.5909 or email her at teamfox.avon@yahoo.com to purchase tickets in advance for $20/each. Tickets can also be purchased on the night of the event at the Avon Theatre for $30/each. For more details, click here.

If you can't make it on Tuesday but you'd still like to contribute to this important cause, you can purchase a $20 ticket that will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.
