Garbage Museum in Stratford

My friend Tiffany Davidson of Femme Fatale Fitness is always on the lookout for fun, off the beaten path kid-friendly activities. And lucky me, she often tips me off to her most recent discoveries. Recently she and her son visited the Garbage Museum in Stratford.  I've never been but it sounds like a great place to visit for a bunch of reasons:
a) It's indoors. Great for cold winter days.
b) It's cheap! Only $2 per person and kids under 3 get in free.
c)  The place is run by the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority and their goal is to educate people of all ages about the importance of recycling. So you'll find a huge "trashosaurus" (above) and kids can watch the regional recycling center in action from a mezzanine. The gift shop sells items made from recycled or reused materials.
Thanks to Tiffany for the recommendation! The Garbage Museum is at 1410 Honeyspot Road Extension, Stratford.
