Fairfield Green Food Guide - Search Local Farmers' Markets and Win Some Lunchskins

All winter long I've been looking forward to farmers' markets and now the season is upon us. Later, crappy grocery store produce! Hello, fresh, local fruits and veggies.

Only problem is, I can't keep track of what market takes place on what day at what time. So I contacted Analiese Paik of the Fairfield Green Food Guide for some help. The Fairfield Green Food Guide is a relatively new site that offers the best way for consumers to find green food in their towns and stay current on the local green food scene.

The Buying Guide is a searchable database that has the most up-to-date listings of Fairfield County Farmers' Markets and CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture). It also includes specialty stores and grocers carrying local, organic or sustainably raised/manufactured foods. The database is continuously updated so new resources appear regularly.

The search box enables consumers to search The Buying Guide database by town, zip code, business name and business description. Someone looking for a farmers' market would simply type in "farmers' market" in the "business description" field, hit "search", and every single farmers' market in Fairfield County will appear.

Play around with the tool to search by town, date and market name. Plus, if you care about feeding your family the healthiest foods, you'll find the site really helpful.

Register to get email updates about everything related to green food in Fairfield County.

Analiese is offering a pair of
Lunch Skins (choice of sharks and lizards or apples and mangoes) to the FCC reader who refers the mo
st new subscribers to the Fairfield Green Food Guide. Runner up receives a Planet Zero Gravity 1 liter stainless steel water.

All you have to do is ask your friends to put your name in the "how you heard about us" field when they register for the Fairfield Green Food Guide newsletter. Deadline is Thursday, June 4.
