Last Wednesday I made a stop at the farmers market at the Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford. It's all part of my Fairfield County Farmers Market Tour 2009... I hope to get to all/most of them by summer's end.
I found this one pretty quiet, but it had a good variety of vendors selling stuff beyond what you'd expect at a farmers market. Sure there was great produce, but I didn't expect to find fresh clams from Pepe's Cream of the Crop. Laurie (below) explained that her clams are sold the day they're caught, unlike others from competitors that might be a week old (yuck):
Nor did I expect to find these gorgeous vintage quilts or handpainted furniture from The Treasure Chest.
The Treasure Chest ladies were so sweet. They made my kid's day by giving her this sparkly vintage bracelet from their collection of baubles (don't mind the grubby fingernails).

I love the farmer's market, too! we bike there and then have to have a very thirst-quenching lemondae before we can bring our fresh eggs back home!
