Reader Question: Where to Hold a Three-Year-Old Boy's Birthday Party in Fairfield County?

Hola. And here I am thinking this blog is old news and no one is reading it anymore and then out of the blue - a reader question! Amy posted a question on the FCC Facebook page at www.facebook.com/FairfieldCountyChild about where to hold a 3-year-old boy's birthday party in Fairfield County this summer. Anyone?

I have two girls and no idea what's happening in boyland. Can someone help Amy out?  This is all I've got.... I went to a great party at Great Play in Stamford recently that was very boy-friendly. It's not exactly the best place for a summer party because it's all indoors, but the kids went nuts for the huge playspace and they have this ridiculous Interactive Arena that's sort of like Wii on crack. Hard to explain. All I know is that the kids stayed totally engaged and active and my mom friend (the hostess) was very happy with the staff. You can read all about Great Play's parties at http://greatplay.com/birthday/index.html.

Any other ideas out there? If so please post below. Thanks!

Stamford Nature Center? Beardsley Zoo? Both affordable and fun. And gender neutral.

My friend hosted a four year old boy birthday party at Soundwaters at Cove Island Park in Stamford and it was great! They take the kids "exploring" and let them touch sea creatures. A perfect, hands on party for boys in a beautiful setting.

I would recommend Westport's Earthplace. The price is very reasonable for members, and they will customize the event for the particular child.

We've had great parties at The Little Gym (Darien) and Kids U (Stamford). My kids both love parties at Pump It Up (Norwalk)--and I love them because they come home exhausted!

Take the Metro North train from New Canaan to Stamford and back. Wildly exciting for the traveling munchkins (esp if you have a nice conductor who let's them beep the horn the entire way...), FREE (kids, adults are a modest cost) and then have everyone back to your house for mimosas and brunch!

We're having our soon-to-be 3 year old son's bday party at a fire station in Stamford next weekend so I can't tell you how it went yet, but the anticipation leading up to it has been unrivaled. The Belltown fire station has a large event room where we'll have them run around to fire station-related games, the kids get a tour, they can climb on the truck, play with the fire hose, play with a uniform, get a talk by a real, live, donned-in-uniform fireman catered to this age group... don't know about getting a ride on a fire truck yet. The rental fee was very, very reasonable, and it goes to a good cause. I'll let you know if it was a success! --Kristen

We had a great party at our home last week and it was all taken care of by Inspired Revelry.http://inspiredrevelry.com/
We chose the carnival theme but there are tons of other options.

Check out Easy Peasy Party. They have themed based crafts and games that come in a kit for a great at-home birthday party.
